Cleaningof intake manifold and engine head intake ports

This typeof procedure is typically performed on diesel engines. The first sign you needto do it is the fluctuating revolution speed in a cold engine; diagnosticsmostly shows errors related to clogged intake manifold flange valves.

First, the intake manifold with additional pipes and the throttle valve areremoved; if necessary, the EGR valve pipes are also removed. All thesecomponents are placed into an ultrasonic bath and fully cleaned of oil and burnings.
Attention must be paid to the condition of the manifold, checking if themanifold flange valves are worn, and if the rear part of the manifold, wherethe axle guiding the flange valves comes out of the manifold, is worn, and thatthere are no oil leaks there.

Afterremoving the manifold, we can start assessing the condition of the engine headintake ports; if these ports are also clogged, cleaning is required. Atechnology involving a jet of air and a fine abrasive material is used to dothis, and it does not damage the engine head/valves.

Once all this work is done, we can start assemblingthe intake manifold; installing new sealing rings is required here.
